About Us
Christians can know many correct things about God and still lose their bearings when life becomes difficult. We often interpret God through our circumstances instead of interpreting our circumstances through what Scripture tells us about God. Remind Us Again exists to close that gap.
How Did Remind Us Again Begin?
The idea behind Remind Us Again grew out of years of teaching Scripture and was deepened through Jay Hohfeler’s experience of prolonged, life-threatening illness. During those years, he became increasingly aware of how easily pain and uncertainty can cause even Christians to forget what they know about God.
One of Jay’s practices became especially important: returning to Scripture and looking intentionally for God’s character and His activity. Again and again, the Bible reminded Jay that God was good, sovereign, wise, present, and actively at work — even when circumstances made Him difficult to discern.
Remind Us Again grew from the conviction that all of us need those reminders.
Meet the Founder
Jay Hohfeler
Jay Hohfeler has been a lay Bible teacher for more than 40 years. As a teaching leader in numerous adult classes, small groups and Bible Study Fellowship, he brings the Scriptures alive for believers in all traditions, including Orthodox, Reformed, and Catholic.
After serving as a classroom teacher in the Houston public schools, Jay pivoted to a 27-year career in telecommunications where he eventually served as an executive with Southwestern Bell, GTE, and Verizon. Like most believers in the workplace, he carried the pressures of corporate life with the demands of family into His life with Christ. After telecom, Jay served as President and Headmaster of a Christian private school in inner-city Dallas.

In his mid-fifties, he was suddenly diagnosed with aggressive stage-four lymphoma—followed by complications from a bone-marrow transplant. With less than a 5% chance of survival, a grueling four-year-treatment period followed, which was accompanied by losses in nearly every facet of ordinary life. Counter-intuitively, that season became the richest years of Jay’s life—with God’s profound interventions on his endurance, character and hope (Rom 5:3-5). His teaching often reflects the confusion and desert-like experiences that Biblical characters experienced as they yielded to God’s wise care in the “howling waste of the wilderness” (Deut 32) that was ordained for them.
Jay received a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Trinity University, San Antonio, TX and a Master’s degree in Business from the University of St. Thomas, Houston, TX. Throughout his work in the fields of education, business and Christian non-profit, he has regularly taught the Scriptures and, today, leads adult classes at Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas, TX.
Jay and Beth have been married for 36 years and are parents to three grown daughters: Molly (Jack), Maggie and Kate (Josh)—and four grandchildren.

Each Remind Us Again message combines careful attention to Scripture with historical and cultural context, biblical theology, candid personal experience, and direct practical application.
The goal is not simply to transfer biblical information but to help people see God more clearly and allow Scripture to examine their own hearts.
SCRIPTURE THAT SHAPES OUR MINISTRY
“And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not. And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.”
-Deuteronomy 8:2-3
Board Members and Officers
Who God Is. How He Works.
This phrase captures two questions we want people to keep asking as they read Scripture and live their lives: What does this show me about who God is? And what does it show me about how God acts?
Knowing His attributes is not merely theological information. As we see His character expressed through His actions, we learn to recognize His faithfulness in our own lives and trust Him when we cannot see the entire plan.
That method is visible throughout Jay Hohfeler’s teaching: suffering in the desert, the bewilderment of Job, Joseph and David.
And God’s Providence throughout.
